Dan Matheson

Dan began his career at a major Dallas firm in 1974, and moved to Austin in 1982. His almost 40 years of practice have been largely focused on representing business entities, entrepreneurs, and investors in a wide array of corporate and business transactions, including merger and acquisition transactions and equity and debt financing transactions. His experience spans several business sectors, both public and private, and includes serving as general counsel of an Austin-based telecommunications company that developed markets in Mexico and Central America.Before co-founding the firm in 2007, Dan was a partner/shareholder in three of Texas’ most prominent law firms.Long active in community and civic affairs, Dan has served on numerous government and charitable boards, including service as Chairman of the Board of Regents of the Texas State University System, Director of the Texas Office of State-Federal Relations, and Chairman of the Board of Mental Health America of Texas, Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central and South Texas, Texas Lyceum Association, and The First Tee of Greater Austin. He is an alumnus of The University of Texas at Austin and The University of Texas Law School where he graduated with honors and served as an editor of The Texas Law Review.

Jane Matheson

Jane has almost 40 years of experience in legal practice, government service, and business management. Her legal practice– and before that, her government service – has been focused on labor and employment law, with an emphasis on OSHA and workplace safety and health issues. She authored and periodically updates the "Employee Safety and Health – Chapter 10” in James Publishing’s Texas Employment Law. Her early experience managing an organization with 38 employees and multi-million dollar budget provided unique opportunities for understanding and appreciating the challenges presented to small to medium-sized employers. Over the course of her career, Jane has been an active participant in civic and community organizations, including serving as the Executive Director of the Republican Party of Texas, Chairman of the Board of Junior Achievement of Central Texas, and a member of the Executive Committee of the University of Texas Law Alumni Association. Both her bachelors and J.D. degrees are from The University of Texas at Austin.

Jerry Keys

Jerry has over 37 years of experience representing technology and industrial companies ranging from Fortune 500 and multinationals to startups in both domestic and international matters. His legal practice focuses on technology, intellectual property, and corporate law. He has also served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel of a venture capital-funded IT company. Jerry received his J.D. degree after earning a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, both from The University of Texas at Austin. Jerry is also a former Chairman and existing executive committee member of the Greater Austin San Antonio Corridor Council. Kevin L. Daffer

Kevin had more than thirty years of legal experience with large law firms prior to joining the firm. His legal practice focuses on intellectual property and technology law with an emphasis on patent litigation, prosecution, licensing, patent portfolio management, due diligence, e-Commerce transaction, patent mediation, arbitration and expert witnessing. Kevin has procured over twelve hundred patents worldwide and represented many large and medium-sized domestic and foreign companies. Kevin has successfully completed over fifty patent infringement cases representing both Plaintiffs and Defendants, and continues to have a thriving litigation practice. Kevin earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with Distinction from the University of Nebraska, his M.B.A. with Honors from St. Edward’s University, and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from Southern Methodist University. Kevin is a member of the State Bar of Texas and is also licensed to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, U.S. District Courts for the Western, Northern, Eastern, and Southern Districts of Texas, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.

Kelly K. Kordzik

Kelly has over 22 years of legal experience. His practice focuses on intellectual property and technology law with an emphasis on patent prosecution, licensing and intellectual property portfolio management in a variety of technology areas, including nanotechnology and information technology. Kelly is recognized as one of the leaders in the field of nanotechnology. He is President of the Texas Nanotechnology Initiative and has served on the Advisory Boards of the Nanomaterials Applications Center, Nanotechnology Law & Business, and the Science, Technology & Society Program at the University of Texas at Austin. Kelly received his J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from the University of Houston after earning a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Scott Kidd

Rodney Varner

Rodney’s 34 year legal career includes extensive experience in business and corporate law, securities, finance, taxation, real estate and litigation. Having served as general counsel for a NASDAQ traded biotechnology company for fifteen years, he is experienced in the issues that face management and boards of directors of publicly traded companies, including securities regulation, corporate governance, Sarbanes-Oxley, employment matters, stockholder relations, directors’ and officers’ insurance, risk management, and resolution of disputes, including mediation, arbitration and litigation. Rodney is a founder of an SEC and FINRA licensed securities broker-dealer, and is a licensed securities representative of that firm, holding Series 7, 24, 65 and 79 license designations. He is an alumnus of The University of Texas School of Law, and Texas A & M University. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, and is licensed to practice in the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas and the United States Tax Court. He also serves as a director of the Texas Healthcare and Bioscience Institute and of the Texas Medical Device Alliance.

Mark Bradshaw

Mark began his legal career over twenty years ago with a prominent national law firm based in California. Following ten years in its Los Angeles and San Francisco offices - with a practice focused on creditors' rights and the reorganization of distressed companies - he joined one of Silicon Valley's largest firms. In the Silicon Valley, Mark transitioned his practice to mergers, acquisitions, financings, and other corporate transactions for technology companies. In 2002 he returned to Austin, subsequently completing graduate studies in accounting. Mark joined the accounting faculty of the University of Texas at Austin in 2006, where he currently teaches courses in fraud examination, auditing and advanced financial accounting. Mark also served as Professor in Residence at a "Big Four" accounting firm. His practice is devoted primarily to corporate and commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions. Mark holds a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Iowa and M.B.A., M.P.A., and J.D. degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a member of the State Bars of Texas and California.

Sarah Fink

Prior to his 11 years at Associa, Paul served as legislative committee director and staff attorney for Texas state senator John Carona.

Paul has received recognition for his career achievements by D CEO, Texas Lawyer, and The Latino American Who's Who. He is a board member of the Council on Alcohol & Drug Abuse, Lake Highlands YMCA, Lake Highlands Area Improvement Association, and a member of the Lake Highlands Exchange Club, Knights of Columbus, L Streets Neighborhood Association, Serra Club, and USAB amateur boxing organization.
